From the Course: A Tale of Two Member/Guest Tournaments

July was a whirlwind of fairways, friendships, and a little friendly competition as I had the pleasure of playing in two incredible Member/Guest tournaments. First at the historic Shore Acres in Lake Bluff, Illinois, and then right here at home in Jackson at Teton Pines.
Shore Acres never disappoints. With its classic design and Lake Michigan breezes, it's always a special place to tee it up. The camaraderie, competition, and post-round storytelling made for a memorable few days with some old friends and new ones too.
Just a few days later, it was time to shift gears and bring that same energy to our own backyard. Teton Pines hosted a spectacular Member/Guest, and I couldn’t have been more proud to show off the stunning mountain backdrop and welcoming spirit of our club. It’s always a joy to share the magic of Jackson with others—especially when the golf is this good.
Two very different places, but both reminded me why I love this game so much. It’s about more than just scorecards, it’s the people, the traditions, and those shared moments that keep us all coming back.
Sincerely,
Nato

The Jackson Hole real estate market continues to operate in a world of it's own, largely defying national trends. While nationally we are seeing a cooling of the real estate market, the local market is not as clear cut. Data from the first half of the year shows a 25% increase in the overall market compared to the same period in 2024, with the average sale price reaching a record-breaking $4.59 million.
Although inventory of active listings has increased by 10% compared to Q2 of 2024, it's important to note that these levels are still historically low. Much of this new inventory is concentrated in the highest sector of the market, with listings over $20 million. Conversely, the lower end of the market, for single-family homes priced at $2 million and below, continues to face a significant lack of available inventory.
This creates an interesting dichotomy. Sellers of high-end luxury homes often have the financial flexibility to be patient and wait for the right offer. We've seen some of these properties, if optimistically priced, linger on the market. However, homes across all price points that are priced appropriately for current conditions are still moving quickly, often attracting multiple offers. This indicates that while there may be some shifts, the market remains highly competitive, especially for well-priced properties.

Persephone Westbank is the perfect stop to fuel up for adventure or unwind after a day of fun. Whether you're hitting the slopes or the links next door, its central location makes it a go-to spot. Owners Ali and Kevin Cohane have cultivated a truly special community hub since opening in 2011, building their business on a deep connection to Jackson Hole.
The dream for Persephone took root during snowy ski seasons, as the couple worked in local restaurants and immersed themselves in the Tetons. Their bakery is a testament to the supportive spirit that defines our community. At the Westbank location, the menu masterfully blends French favorites with Wyoming twists, sourcing only the finest ingredients from over 20 local farms, ranches, and dairies to create fresh, sustainable dishes.
Next time you visit, be sure to grab a cup of coffee and a kouign-amann for me!
